The tour departs from Jerusalem, where we will take the road to Ramallah via Qalandia Jaba and passing through Qalandiya checkpoint. In Ramallah, we will view the different Palestinian administrations and the Bank of Palestine. We will first visit Mahmoud Darwish Museum and surrounding gardens where we will have a nice view as well as learn about Palestine’s most prolific poet and writer. Other museum visits include the Yasser Arafat Museum, where his tomb, belongings, and office are present, and the Palestinian museum, which represents the history and aspirations of the Palestinian people. We will also travel back to the present and visit a local bookstore to explore the current Palestinian literary scene. Our immersion in Ramallah will conclude with lunch in a local Palestinian village and an optional tour of local beer breweries.
Ramallah is the cultural hub of Palestine, and yet it is rarely offered as a tour by the tourism offices of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories. This tour aims to introduce you to the vibrant atmosphere of Ramallah and the historical narratives of Palestine. Come explore the road not taken!
